Each week, I share something about my life with my grandsons.

I’ve noticed you both have something you love to carry around with you. Carter, you like to carry Brown Bear to bed with you at night and at least one dinosaur when you’re on your way to school. Noah, you’ve just started carrying little Match Box cars everywhere you go, and every conversation here lately starts with you telling me about ‘Noah’s car.’

But did you know Nana had a lot of ‘stuffies’ when she was a little girl? It’s true! You see, I was an only child for the first four years of my life (just like you, Carter!) so my parents and grandparents spoiled me rotten! And I must have loved stuffies because I had an entire bed full of them–in fact, there were so many, you could barely find me in the middle of them!

I always loved toys as a kid, particularly Barbie dolls. I only had a few but those dolls had everything you could think of–a house, clothes, a car. I’d make up stories about them and the adventure I’d send them on. I wished I still had one or two–not because they’d be worth anything. They were too loved for that, but just to have them as a memory.

I still like to have my things with me when I travel. My favorite pillow and blanket. My computer. A notebook and pen. These things make me comfortable in unfamiliar surroundings just like your stuffies, dinosaurs, and cars help you too.

I love you bunches!

Nana
